Why Is My Poodle So Destructive

A Poodle is a wonderful dog for any type of personality. It will suit people who seek a calm dog, and it will suit people who seek a bouncy dog. The Poodle can and will be everything you will want it to be.

There are many ways that will indicate that your Poodle is not well adjusted to its environment. The most obvious is that it will bark incessantly when you have people visiting and you do not pay enough attention to it. These dogs suffer from separation anxiety and at the same time might feel threatened by the large crowd it finds around them. Some Poodles will act aggressive or go on a chewing rampage destroying everything that they can put their teeth on. These dogs too suffer from separation anxiety and the destructive behavior is to attract your attention towards them; particularly asking you not to leave them out of your sight.

Pampering is the first and foremost reason for bad behavior in Poodles. Their sweet looks and friendly attitude often makes their owners to treat them more as their children than dogs ? which is good in a way. However, it is important that you lay down the rules very clearly and enforce them consistently or you will have a wild adult Poodle on your hands in no time.

Fear is one of the most important reasons why a Poodle might exhibit bad behavior. It is possible to eliminate these types of Poodle problems if you take the trouble to socialize the dog systematically both with people and other animals. A dog that is fearful can become skittish and even nip at extended hands.

Other signs that the dog is not happy are chewing excessively on anything it find at home, tearing clothes or frequently urinating about the house. Sometimes this happens when it is left alone for a long period of time, which means that it is suffering from separation anxiety.

All the Poodle problems can be overcome if you have enough love to give it and sufficient patience to be around it as much as it takes to respond to the new way of life. Whatever Poodle problems you might encounter, you can make it disappear in no time with a little patience and a lot of attention.

Poodles problems can occur if your dog left for too long without company. They are animals that love company and cannot spend long time in isolation. When this happens ? say you leave your Poodle alone every day for more than four hours consecutively ? it will become restless and consumed by boredom. To counter this it will start chewing on things in the house, urinating on shoes or even bed, and barking loudly and aggressively.

When you own a Poodle, you should be assured of one thing. The dog’s first priority is to please you so, as long as you can show the dog through rewards and positive reinforcement of the good behavior what you really want from it, you will be able to motivate it into doing whatever you want.
