Siberian Husky: Outgoing Nature
Siberian Huskies are active and outgoing and they can play an important role in their new life amongst humans. Their most prized asset is without a doubt their temperament that is gregarious when amongst other dogs and friendly towards humans. The Siberian Husky also sheds quite a bit which means that he will require brushing regularly, and there should also be enough space for him in the home if you want to keep this active creature happy.
To teach your Siberian Husky obedience training requires that you use methods that are easy for him to understand, because he is a creature who at first won’t know anything about how humans behave. In addition, you need to let him know that you are the leader of the pack and what you say goes. Other than that, you need to be consistent in your teaching methods and to also use simple words as commands that he will be sure to understand, and to always teach him in the present tense.
Furthermore, proper Siberian Husky obedience training implies that you use the same command for each different type of behavior that you are teaching him. Also supplement the teaching with food rewards and praise whenever he does something right because that will help reinforce the learning. After that, once your Husky is able to connect with what you are telling him, he will then find motivation and try to repeat the desired behavior every time he hears the key commands.
All dogs, including Siberian Huskies are only able to understand things that have happened no more than five seconds ago. So there is little point in trying to correct actions that the Husky performed more than five seconds ago since he will not be able to put two and two together and come up with four. It is thus necessary to correct your Husky only while he is caught in the act or has just done something wrong. Thus, good Siberian Husky training requires you to time the instructions right and also be consistent in giving your training commands.
At the same time, you need to know that dogs only live in the present and thus if he does something wrong and more than five seconds have elapsed, and you try and correct that action, he won’t understand just what you are trying to teach him. Thus, you need to time your Siberian Husky training instructions right and also be consistent in giving commands, which will ensure that your pet understands the proper behavior expected of him and will also not repeat bad behavior.
Good training requires you following simple guidelines which will help you get the most out of your Siberian Husky obedience training drills. For example, you need to stick with using commands that are single words, which the Husky will be better able to understand. If he did something wrong five minutes before, there is no sense in trying to correct that misdemeanor because he won’t know what the fuss is all about.
Another aspect of good Siberian Husky obedience training is to lavish praise when your Husky does a good thing and to also use your best doggie voice when praising him. Also, don’t be fooled by the powerful and imposing appearance of your Husky, because he is a soft creature underneath and so does not merit using harsh obedience training methods, mostly because he won’t respond to such methods.
However, you need to start him off with Siberian Husky training while he is still in kindergarten and then consistently train him so that he does not show stubbornness, aggressiveness or other undesirable traits.
