Shar Pei Breeders You Should Watch Out Fo

by Melissa Coleman

You and your family have decided that the dog of your choice is the Shar Pei and now that you have decided what dog to get you need to go hunting for Shar Pei breeders. Always be looking to get as many Shar Pei breeders to talk to as possible because you want choices when making an important decision such as this. Sometimes it is worth the one-hour drive to make sure you get your family pet from a reputable breeder as opposed to walking across the street to deal with the wrong breeder.

Always ask a breeder what national breeder registry they are listed with and then confirm their answer for yourself by checking it out on the Internet.

A breeder registry sets the breeding standards that its members use and if a breeder you are talking to is not listed with a registry then it is probably using its own breeding standards and that may not be the kind of breeder you want to deal with.

In the life of your pet there will be no greater resource for important information than your vet and that includes the process of weeding out bad Shar Pei breeders. If you do not have a vet then the perfect time to get one is when you are considering breeders. Your vet will have valuable information that will help you steer clear of the bad Shar Pei breeders and only deal with the breeders that have a solid reputation. You can always take the advice your vet gives you and base much of your decision making on it.

If the local law enforcement officials are familiar with some of the Shar Pei breeders you are considering then you may want to remove them from your list. A breeder may seem like a wonderful person when you talk to them but if you look into their past a little bit you may wind finding a person you do not want to deal with when it comes to something as important as the purchase of your pet.

The Internet is more than just a way of buying something from eBay. You can also use the Internet in your research on local Shar Pei breeders. If a customer had an especially bad experience with a breeder they will sometimes post about it on the Internet for everyone to read and you can use information like that in your weeding out process.

Sometimes people that have exceptionally bad experiences with breeders will post about that somewhere on the Internet for everyone to read. You can save yourself a lot of aggravation you do not need to go through if you just take the time to search the Internet.

You will talk to a lot of breeders before you find the one that you will be buying your Shar Pei from but there is no reason why you cannot use the resources available to you to weed out the ones that are not worth your time. Do your homework on this because choosing a breeder is extremely important.
