Golden Retriever Rescue Possibilities

A very good rescue is a dog that’s sociable, patient and easy to train. These are just a few of the qualities which Golden Retrievers posses. They are good with children, with people and work well with other types of dogs.

Golden Retrievers are originally from England. In England Golden Retrievers were bred and developed as hunting companions. There are two distinct appearance or breed (as you may call it) of golden. The distinction of their appearances depends whether they are American or British type of breed. An American breed (according to the American breed standard) is well proportionate and athletic. It is a very active and powerful dog. The British breed however is not as lanky, and is stockier in build.

Golden Retrievers make very good watchdogs, mobility assistance dogs and search and rescue dogs, however they make very poor guard dogs. They bark loudly but it is very unlikely that they will attack anyone.

If you want to raise a Golden Retrievers rescue dog you will have to start weaning your dog when he is still a puppy. It is not just important to get the desired actions, a Golden Retriever rescue dog needs to be in good health, of sound mind and open to rigid training as he or she grows up. You can start basic training your Golden Retriever, you must promote a sense of obedience, at the same time learn to understand your dog. So when its time to make your dog into a Golden Retriever rescue dog it will not be too difficult for the professionals to teach your dog to obey.

When your dog reaches twelve to fourteen weeks old send the puppy to an obedience class. Nothing beats the training of experts. The key to training your dog all by your self is timing. When your dog does something not desired correct him or her immediately; the same goes for praising your dog, a desired action should also be praised the moment it is done.

Spending time with your dog is not only relaxing for you but it helps the dog connect to you and eliminates ceaseless barking. Exercise your dog regularly and put him through a dog agility training to further enhance his intelligence.

Dogs are very different from people because they are amoral. Spot the problems on your Golden Retriever rescue dog early so it will be easy to correct them. A dog identifies to your tone of voice. Don’t be permissive, loving your dog is good but letting him or her get away with bad behavior will end up to work against your dog. Golden Retriever rescue training is very rigid; so as early as the puppy years break your dog’s bad habits.

Do not forget to taken your dog to agility training, as the things he will learn in this class will be the basis of his success in rescue dog training. Do not be too soft on your dog, as this will only cause him difficulties when he gets to proper rescue training.
