The Shocking Truth About Dog Food You Absolutely Must Know

by Linda McNaughton

With the commercial pet food industry being under the gun in recent times, it can be hard for any of us to believe that we will not be seeing more pet food recalls in the near future. The sad truth is that the dog food we buy in the stores has the potential to cause extreme illness to our dogs.

The pet food industry did not just taint themselves, they also caused concern and heartbreak among many dog owners that will never be able to regain the faith that most of us all took for granted with this industry.

With all these recalls it is going to be difficult for the dog food industry to ever regain the trust of thousands of dog owners. Many people lost their pets because of tainted food that made it into their house.

Unfortunately, even if the dog food isn’t “tainted”, it is still not a healthy choice for your dog. There are so many horrible ingredients in commercial dog food that can have long term affects on your dog’s health.

It’s no mystery that there has been a huge trend in healthy eating. As humans we are becoming more aware of the benefits of eating a healthy diet and eating nutritious food to keep our bodies well fueled.

It’s easy not to think the same way when we are choosing out food for our dog. Many people are so used to just grabbing a bag of food whenever they run out. However, food plays just as important of a role in a dog’s life.

There are some ingredients in dog food that we should flat out avoid. They are not healthy or reliable in quality for pet consumption. They are also used heavily in the dog food industry by the larger companies.

As an example, corn gluten is a by-product that is found in dog foods. This is used because it is an incredibly cheap filler. However, not only is it an extremely poor source of protein, but it is one of the most common causes of allergies in dogs.

One of the worst ingredients found in commercial dog food is something called ‘chicken by-product meal’. This is a combination I hate describing - it’s nothing but ground up chickens feets, necks, bones, intestines etc. The companies use it because it’s cheap but it has the potential of being toxic or tainted. It sure doesn’t do your dog any good!

Soybean meal is also used as a protein source in dog food. The protein is a decent quality, however Soybean is also the number one allergy that dogs suffer from.

We could list several more ingredients, but I’m sure you get the point. The dog food you find in the stores is made up of such low quality ingredients that can put your dog’s health at risk. The companies aren’t looking to include the best ingredients for your pup - they just want to make as much money as they can.

It’s amazing to see how much of a difference feeding your dog the right type of food can make. Your dog will be happier, healthier and even better behaved once you pay attention to their diet.

Does this mean that you can’t ever use store-bought dog food? Of course not, but you absolutely must know what to look for. We included a link at the bottom of this article where you can find more information.

Once you understand the dangers of certain commercial dog food and which ingredients to avoid, it’s incredibly easy to make sure your dog is being fed nothing but the best food possible. Not only will you have the happiest and healthiest dog on the block, but you might just save its life! All the best!

Non Toxic Mange Treatment For Pets : Know About Their Welfare

by Wendell Ruben

It is really not nice for our pets when they become infected with all sorts of mites. It affects their well being and makes them depressed, because they are constantly itching and scratching. If not treated the infections become worse and then expensive oral medication like antibiotics will have to be administered. To find a good Non Toxic Mange Treatment for Pets is thus important and should not be treated lightly.

Before you rush off to the veterinary office or before you shop online, you need to know which type of mange mite your beloved pet has. Well essentially there are two prevalent critters who cause our pets to go mad with itch.

Look out for areas on the body like the face, on the corners of the mouth and around the eyes. They also live on the paws and forelimbs. Your dog or cat will also have a rather septic smell on it’s skin which is sure sign of gross infestation.

The other mange mite, sarcoptes scabiei canis or canine scabies, is also found naturally on the skin, but can be transmitted more prevalently. These mites will actually burrow into the skin to lay eggs. Extreme itch is the result with constant scratching until the skin is punctured. Infected ears and elbows are the first sign of scabies mange mites. You will also find this condition in severe cases where animals are not fed proper diets and become malnourished.

The first solution is to look at your animal’s diet. If it is not getting a balanced meal a day, you stand a chance of your pet becoming infected. If your animal has a good diet but is still infected, then he must have come into contact with another animal and the mites were transmitted that way. It could also be that your pet was recently ill and it’s immune system is weak causing overpopulation.

When you suspect your animal has this condition you need to address their diet immediately. They need a balanced meal, just like humans do. Then you need to find a good non-toxic treatment either online or at your nearest veterinarian. A few treatments with the chosen medication and a good topical cream for the sores, will definitely help your pet out of his depressing state.

It would be wise to try the non toxic treatment first because after all you don’t want to harm your animal more than you should. Products like ivermectin can cause further damage to their immune system, rendering healing long and arduous.

You might have to treat your animal for a few weeks because it takes time to get the mites at bay and to have your animal’s hair grow back. The open wounds also need time to heal and one could opt for an antibiotic if the sores are extremely bad. A good immune booster will also assist your animal with recovery much faster.

Also keep your pet separate from other members of the family and do not let the animal sleep on bedding with your children for the duration of it’s treatment. Get all the animal’s bedding and sleeping area washed as these mites can transmit with prolonged contact. So always lean toward a Non Toxic Mange Treatment for Pets, as their lives too are precious.

One in Three Individuals Spell It German Shepards

by Maria Eskitama

I was surprised to learn that about one in any three individuals spell the word German Shepherd incorrectly, calling them German Shepards rather. I am surprised that this word is so commonly misspelled, & I’m even more surprised to learn that I spelled it like this for so lots of of my life.

I hate spelling words mistakenly and I consistently seek to avert it. I am always careful to make certain that I’m exact with my spelling, but like just about any human being, occasionally I simply slip up. The great news is that I have an effortless way to remember how to spell this breed of dog correctly.

Follow my basic procedure here and you certainly will consistently recall that it’s not German Shepards, but shepherds.

Remember back to why this kind of dog was created & perhaps you’ll quickly figure this out. The German Shepherd was created as a working canine, & it was just at the turn of the century that this dog came to life.

Individuals in Germany wanted a canine to help herd sheep. Remember the words herd & sheep now, and then reverse them. You don’t think of the German Shepards (I am kidding) now as sheep herding canines, as they’re usually used by law enforcement to fight crime, in airports to find drugs, & in other settings that depend on the dog’s strong sense of smell.

This, however, is why they had been bred, and remembering this will make it much easier to spell the word correctly.

As long as you attempt to keep this in mind any time you spell out the word, I think you will get it precisely from here. Do not feel too badly regarding it since one in 3 individuals do write it wrong.

I hope this has been helpful. Here’s to a few spelling triumphs in the future when it comes to this wonderful type of canine.

My Puppy Is A Monster Who Rules In My Home!! Tells Us How Manage Him Or We Will Be Gone!!

by Linda Cole

There’s a movie I am watching on my living room floor about a wild boy named Jasper another victim in the world. He reminds of a criminal as he stalks through his day, caring not for consequence or anything in his way. A James Dean with attitude, his rebellion making waves as he seemed so oblivious to his actions his shame. Who is this mystery guy, this wrecking crew of sorts? This four legged angel, who had fallen from grace.

Jasper is a puppy with a mind of his own, in fact he is a Maltese, purebred the new love of Amy and he can do no wrong. You see Amy was quite lonely when she decided to adopt a dog, she wanted something to cuddle, something of her own. She had never had much luck with the guys on her path so she thought that this puppy would be the answer and they would live happily ever after in their lovely little house.

There is no doubt a dog will fill a void in your heart they are the most underrated friend you could ever have. Jasper is a godsend, a great little guy full of hope and of promise he loves every moment that life has to give. Though he was delivered to Amy at the age of six weeks the breeders have given him all the tools he will need. This whole scenerio seems perfect I know but the problem of complacency is raising its ugly head. Amy loves to take him wherever she goes and there is no doubt that Jasper leaves an impression of his own, he’s a fun loving guy who brings smiles to a room.

A child without boundaries can lead to a teenager finding trouble and ending up in jail A puppy like a child needs a guide through its to, rebel without a cause that was young Jasper relieving himself on the carpet once again. This cute, fluffy bundle that had won all our hearts was resembled a predator as he let out his bark. Her family and friends were becoming aware that this new friend of Amy’s was taking over her home.

Along with his messing, his biting has appeared still Amy seems blinded by this Maltese romance she cannot hear the grumbling from family and friends. She had not given a thought to his lessons and growth, so now we have a puppy that pretty much does, as he wants. I have tried so gently to show her the ropes but it’s falling on deaf ears and my fear for this innocent boy is that Jasper will become another antisocial dog. His bark will get louder; his bite will be bolder until Amy will see that this out of control dog will be a menace to us all. What saddens me most is that so many think a puppy is somehow automatically born with manners and etiquette and needs nothing more. Think if you will before taking them home these dogs are forever and need to be trained.

A small dog will thoroughly enjoy sitting on your knee and being petted. If they are too big for this; they can lie beside you while you stroke them.

Don’t be greedy with your affection and wait until they’ve done something well to pet them. Give them a cuddle for no reason, just to show that you love them. If you’ve been out at work all day, give them a hug when you come in.

How To Choose The Right Dog

by Stanley Duray

There are several factors to consider when you are learning how to choose the right dog for yourself or your family. Doing some research about the breeds you are interested in and basing your decision on the fact that you will have this pet for up to twenty years should be one of the first steps that you take in making your choice. Most people have many changes in their circumstances and life over the course of several years and it will be important that the pet you select will fit in well with the changes that may occur in your life.

The size and temperament of the pet you select should be based on both your current and future needs. A person who is single will want to consider how the temperament and size of the dog will adapt to a family or children in the future.

Some people select their pets to meet immediate needs. They may need a dog that is aggressive or protective because they live in an area where they need this type of protection. However, consider whether or not you will be in this same environment in five years. If you get a protective dog as a single person, consider whether or not it will be able to adapt to a partner or children if you expand your family.

When you are deciding on the best dog, it is important to choose the personality and temperament that matches yours. Choosing a pet because it is in fashion usually does not work out well for the pet or the owner. If you are a person who does not like yapping, or animals that will require a lot of personal attention, then you do not want to get a breed that is in fashion but has these characteristics.

Most small dogs can be very happy in a small space and adapt easily to larger spaces as your family grows. However, a larger breed often has difficulty in small spaces. Think about the amount of time you can spend walking your dog, and providing the kind of attention the dog needs before you make your decision. It is also important to think about the amount of time you will need to invest in training for you dog.

Getting a dog also involves making plans for caring for your new pet. When you have a dog, you cannot just leave it alone and take off. Most dogs do not respond well to being alone for long periods of time. Some people take their dogs to doggie day-care facilities when they work. When you are planning a trip, having someone stay in your home or taking your pet to a doggie hotel will keep your pet healthy and your shoes and other items in your home un-chewed.

One of the ways that pets show they are suffering separation anxiety is to chew on their owners shoes, clothing, carpeting, etc., depending on their size. One St. Bernard that suffered separation anxiety ripped the linoleum off a laundry room floor when the owners left it to go out for the night. This was a wonderful dog and a great family pet, but after the incident, the family always had a baby-sitter for the dog when they were gone from home more than a few hours.

When you talk to a professional about your needs and requirements, they will be able to provide you with details and information about the breed and temperament that will be most suited for you. When you want to learn how to choose the right dog and find a life-long companion, taking time to learn about different breeds will be extremely helpful.

The Most Well Known Cinematic Sidekick Pets From Movies

by Gail Petro

If you think back over some of your favorite movies, many of them will have an animal in it that is integral to the plot. Animals generate big bucks when it comes to box office revenue.

“Lemony Snicket’s Series of Unfortunate Events” was a highly successful movie that brought together an array of animals that were integral to the plot. Fish, cats, snakes and dogs all played their part.

There are several classics that depend completely on their animal stars. We’ll take a quick look at some of the best of them.

One of the earliest, and still incredibly popular, was the wonderful 101 Dalmatians. Pongo and Perdita have their puppies stolen by the evil Cruella Deville, and gain another 90 or so along the way! All of these dogs are easily identified by most children.

Famous film from decades ago was remade with Eddie Murphy taking the lead role of Dr Doolittle. He can talk to animals and understand what they are saying, which all lead him into a series of situations. Two sequels followed.

Not all double acts in movies are both human. One of the most famous where the sidekick is an animal is little Milo, who accompanies the Mask on all his adventures.

The most famous pet of them all may be Toto, Dorothy’s dog in the 1939 classic ‘The Wizard of Oz’. He is with her every step of the way and is actually the cause of her going to Oz in the first place. Nearly every child knows of Toto at some point, as the movie is a fixture in the world of classics.

Now that CGI technology have made cartoon animals seem almost real, they have gotten even more fun. The worlds’ top movies stars all want to help bring these animated wonders to life.
